Very LIGHTLY tossing around the idea of letting Jethro go.
Let me start by saying there are not many like Jethro around the state of South Carolina. Gaited mules are rare around our neck of the woods.
7yo 15 hands broke and willing. Leads loads clips ties baths stands to be mounted and dismounted. But with that being said Jethro is a mule and has mule tendencies. Jethro does need stocks or to be twitched for shoes. Jethro doesn’t like to be bridled on the left side but if you do it from the right he’s perfect. Jethro can also be a little hard to catch until he warms up to you and knows where his bred is buttered. He stays pastured with mares and geldings and ponies. Low in the pecking order and easily bullied. Stays fat off air (he’s legit getting 1lb of oats twice a day). Has the upmost respect for hot wire I mean he want even get close to it.
Doesn’t require a huge bit to ride I’ve been riding him in a jr cow horse. Has a soft mouth and will go absolutely any where you point his head. I mean it doesn’t matter over trees through ditches and briars through the woods the mud he doesn’t care he’s going where you want. No spook bite rear buck or bolt that I’ve seen. Loves to ride out alone but will ride in a group. He’s one of those the more and longer you ride the better he gets. He likes a calm relaxed rider doesn’t require a whole bunch of contact with his mouth to gait honeslty he’s better if you just give him his head and let him pick his speed. He will flat foot walk all day or step into a flat walk and running walk. I’ve rode Jethro all over the farm and never had a minutes trouble with him I’ve taken him to work puppies and he stepped off the trailer like he knew what we were doing and never skipped a beat.
Now here’s the kicker I have throughly enjoyed Jethro but if someone likes him as much as I do they can buy him if not he can stay right here. He is FOR SALE BUT NOT ON SALE.
Up to date on absolutely everything
Ppe welcome at buyers exspence
Asking low 5 figures
I have plenty of videos or I can get any video you want and picture you want.
If he’s kept here past the spring we will start working on his canter get him to roading dogs and he will wear the SF brand for our farm that’s how much we like him
