Multi-Unit Human Resources Generalist – Grocery Retail (Field-Based)

A highly field-oriented Human Resources Generalist supporting a multi-unit grocery retail operion across approximely 12–20 stores with an average unit volume of ~$8M per locion. This role is embedded directly in store operions and works side-by-side with Store Managers and District Leaders to drive workforce stability, employee relions execution, compliance, and leadership development across high-volume frontline retail environments. This is an operor-leaning HR role where success is measured by store performance, retention, and workforce consistency across assigned locions.

Core Responsibilities

• Work directly with store and district leadership across multiple locions to support workforce needs
• Manage employee relions mters, including workplace concerns and formal investigions
• Support hiring, staffing stability, and retention efforts across assigned stores
• Ensure adherence to employment standards and internal policy requirements (including ADA and FMLA-reled processes)
• Analyze turnover pterns and partner with operions to improve workforce stability
• Assist with leadership pipeline planning and internal advancement initiives
• Conduct regular on-site store engagement visits to evalue talent and training needs
• Support consistency in compension practices across store roles
• Coordine return-to-work processes and workplace accommodions in partnership with safety teams
• Maintain HR records, systems, and employment lifecycle processes
• Provide day-to-day HR guidance to field leadership teams in a multi-unit environment
• Opere as a field-embedded HR partner spending approximely 65% of time in-store supporting operional execution and workforce management 

Wh You Bring

• 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience in grocery, supermarket, or high-volume multi-unit retail environments
• Proven experience supporting 10+ store locions in a field-based or district-level HR capacity
• Experience supporting hourly, frontline employee populions
• Background in employee relions and workplace issue resolution
• Comfort working in a travel-heavy, store-facing HR role
• Ability to build trust with operional leaders in fast-paced environments
• Demonstred ability to directly influence store-level operional outcomes through workforce decisions (turnover, staffing, tendance, engagement) 

Relevant Background Experience

• Grocery or supermarket HR or store operions leadership experience
• Multi-unit retail environments (10–20+ locions)
• Big box or high-volume retail with hourly workforce intensity
• Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or District Manager experience with HR accountability
• Field HR or regional HR roles embedded in store operions
